Saul Nash’s Latest Pop-Up Brings his latest collection “Masquerade” to Shoreditch

Saul Nash’s AW26 collection, Masquerade, is on display in Shoreditch at Dray Walk Gallery, The Old Truman Brewery this weekend, where the space will function as a pop-up shop slash creative centre before online sales are made available next week.

The gallery, designed with Y-Lan Lucas, allows fashion and movement lovers alike to immerse themselves in the garments and their inspirations (think mood boards, magazines, books and design references), alongside a hand-picked curation of art from Gray Wielebinski and Izaak Brandt. ON Saturday night there will be a panel talk with Reuben Esser (the show’s stylist) will further reflect on how the collection came together.

Masquerade draws from the captivating performances of Caribbean carnival culture, specifically, Nash’s own experience at Notting Hill Carnival, to create a contemporary reflection on the performance of menswear. Inspired by the endless possibilities empowered through disguise and display, Masquerade celebrates a conscious forging of identity. Structured necklines and pinstripes meet loose silhouettes and denim. Soft shades of green, blue, and brown are set behind the recurring motif of a hand. Masquerade realises the creative agency of performance.

“Designed for the body in motion”, Saul Nash has always been about movement, and Masquerade pushes this movement even further, demonstrating how fashion allows us to move between different versions of ourselves... and construct entirely new ones.

The eponymous fashion label, named after dancer, choreographer, and designer Saul Nash, has embraced dance across its campaigns, and AW26 is no different. The Shoreditch pop-up accompanies an expansive billboard collaboration with BUILDHOLLYWOOD that features shots of dancers across London (covering 37 spots, to be exact).

Masquerade in Residence kicked off on Thursday night with an intimate evening of dance and music performances at the Shoreditch venue (with a standout DJ set from Saul Nash himself), and is now open to the public to round out London Fashion Week. Ending on Sunday the 20th of September, Masquerade in Residence is an unmissable homage to fashion, dance, and the work that acknowledges the intersection of the two.
